Biogram

Ian Garner uzyskał tytuł doktora na Wydziale Slawistyki Uniwersytetu w Toronto (Kanada) w 2017 r., gdzie napisał pracę doktorską na temat mitu bitwy pod Stalingradem. Jest specjalistą w dziedzinie historii i polityki, zaś jego zainteresowania badawcze skupiają się przede wszystkim na rosyjskiej i radzieckiej kulturze wojskowej i propagandzie. Zanim przyszedł do Instytutu Pileckiego, wykładał na Uniwersytecie w Toronto oraz na Queen’s University w Ontario. Ian Garner jest honorowym członkiem Centre for International & Defence Policy w Kingston w Kanadzie, a ponadto regularnie pisze komentarze i artykuły dla najważniejszych światowych środków masowego przekazu. W 2024 r. został członkiem Royal Historical Society (Królewskie Towarzystwo Historyczne) w Londynie.
