Raphael Lemkin Center for Documenting Russian Crimes in Ukraine - Instytut Pileckiego

The Raphael Lemkin Center for Documenting Russian Crimes in Ukraine (the Lemkin Center) was established in 2022, immediately after the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The Center’s mission is to ensure that the world does not forget about the war in Ukraine and that the Russian military is held accountable for its crimes against civilians. People associated with the Center have collected accounts from refugees from war-torn areas, documenting the crimes committed by the Russian military. The Lemkin Center staff compiles these accounts, anonymizes them, and systematically makes them publically available [see more]. Thematic reports  presenting selected categories of crimes committed by the Russian army against the civilian population of Ukraine are continuously being prepared. They are translated into Ukrainian, English, and German. Because the stories entrusted to us by witnesses of Russian aggression are, both literally and figuratively, the content of the Center’s work and a matter of extraordinary concern.
