On 14 August, 2019 the Witold Pilecki Institute of Solidarity and Valor launched a competition to the project Exercising Modernity.

Minister of Culture and National Heritage Hanna Wróblewska appointed Prof. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz Director of the Witold Pilecki Institute of Solidarity and Valor. His five-year term began on 5 November 2024.
