This War of Mine – Workshop with board game
Based on a board game that has won numerous international awards from the gaming community and has been discussed in educational and social contexts, we have developed workshops that address challenging parenting issues.
Polish students are introduced to the subject of war as early as the 4th grade of elementary school, reading mandatory books such as "Memoirs from the Warsaw Uprising", "War Memoirs", "Stones for the Rampart" and the poems of Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński. The deep immersion in character role-playing presented in the game will allow participants to gain a deeper understanding of the wartime dilemmas addressed in these books.
The workshops focus on the topics covered in Polish language, social studies, ethics, and religion classes by discussing the above-mentioned texts, presenting the Geneva Convention and legal provisions regarding human rights, and providing an opportunity to discuss morality and survival.
The computer version of the game is included in the Ministry of National Education’s “Games in Education” program.
