The Polish Odyssey - Documentary Movie and Workshop
Movie “The Polish Odyssey” (Pilecki Institute, 2024) is a moving story of the courage and sacrifice of the soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps.
The memories presented in the film relate to highly emotional events: from brutal deportations deep into the USSR, through the epic journey of Anders’ Army, to respectful, mutually supportive – and at times even loving – relationships between Polish soldiers and the Italian civilian population.
During the workshops, using replicas of uniforms and weapons, students deepen their knowledge of the history of Polish soldiers who initially served in Anders’ Army and, following its reorganization, in the Second Polish Corps. At the same time, they reflect on human survival in the difficult circumstances of exile and combat.
