Witold’s symbols | grades 4-6
Classes are held for pupils in grades 4-6 of primary school. During the classes we will discuss the following terms: republic, national symbols, citizen, flag, emblem, national anthem, places of national memory, national holiday.
In addition, by the end of the class, students will become familiar with the most important monuments and symbols of Polish culture with their respective regions and will learn to locate them on a map. The lesson allows for the implementation of the core curriculum for teaching history in grade 4 of primary schools by achieving general objectives at this stage of education in the area of historical chronology: perceiving continuity in cultural development (I.5); in the area of creating historical narrative: using historical concepts and explaining their meaning (III.2); as well as specific objectives in the area of the most important elements of Polish cultural heritage: the student knows national symbols (colors, emblem, national anthem), most important national and state holidays, and can explain their meaning (II.1).
