Biographical note

A graduate of history from the Institute of History at the University of Warsaw (2000), and a Doctor of the Humanities in the field of History at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2006). As of 2025, he is an Adjunct at the Center for Totalitarian Studies at the Pilecki Institute. From 2001 to 2024, he was employed at the Institute of National Remembrance, where he reconciled his work as a scholar with the duties of an exhibition organizer and educator. He gained his first professional experience with the Government Information Center at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (1997–2000).

He is the author of the first comprehensive study devoted to the crisis of June 1976, and is currently working on a book on the thaw, the 1956 breakthrough and the post-October normalization in Poland against the backdrop of Central and Eastern Europe, which will present the evolution of the system of government of the Polish People’s Republic from totalitarianism to post-totalitarianism/authoritarianism. From 2013 to 2017, he was the coordinator of the Central Research Project – The authorities of the Polish People’s Republic in the face of social crises and the democratic opposition 1956–1976. In addition to scholarly works, he has written numerous popularized scholarly articles and albums, while also organizing exhibitions that were held both in Poland and abroad.
