The Katyn Massacre | Educational Materials
On the occasion of the anniversary of the Katyn Massacre, we have prepared an educational package concerning the events of 80 years ago, consisting of source texts, infographics, and exercises and tasks for students.
The materials also include a link to the account of Henryk Troszczyński (d. 2019), who was sent to the vicinity of Katyn as a forced laborer in the autumn of 1942. When he learned of the fate of the Polish officers, he informed the Germans, who launched an investigation into the matter.
The materials on the Katyn Massacre were developed on the basis of the digital resources of the Pilecki Institute, testimonies from the “Chronicles of Terror” database, and recordings made as part of the “Witnesses to the Age” project.
