Educational materials: “The Polish Odyssey” | Materiali didattici „L’Odissea polacca”
[ENG] Based on the film “The Polish Odyssey” and the history of the 2nd Polish Corps, the Pilecki Institute has prepared lesson plans along with a selection of source materials.
[IT] Basandosi sul film L’Odissea polacca e la storia del II Corpo polacco, l’Istituto Pilecki ha preparato delle lezioni tipo insieme ad una selezione di fonti storiche.
[ENG] We are providing two teaching scenarios. Their aim, beyond introducing Italian students to the moving yet dramatic fate of the soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps, is to present these events in a broader historical context, including contemporary references. Both scenarios employ active learning methods, such as working with maps, group decision-making, and critical analysis of a documentary film as a source of knowledge about the past. The materials have been developed in a way that allows for flexible adaptation to the level and needs of a particular group of students.
Materials intended for secondary school students can be downloaded from the Institute’s website. Teachers who would like to organize an online meeting at their school with the creators of the film are invited to contact us at: edu@instytutpileckiego.pl
[IT] Sulla base del film "L'Odissea polacca" e della storia del 2° Corpo d’Armata Polacco, l’Istituto Pileckiego ha preparato dei programmi didattici accompagnati da una selezione di fonti.
Vi forniamo due proposte di lezioni didattiche basate sul film documentario in questione. Il loro obiettivo – oltre a far conoscere agli studenti italiani il commovente e drammatico destino dei soldati del II Corpo d’armata polacco – è quello di mostrare questi eventi in un contesto storico più ampio, tenendo conto dei riferimenti ai tempi di oggi. Entrambe le proposte utilizzano dei metodi che coinvolgono i partecipanti in modo attivo. Essi sono: il lavoro con la mappa, il processo decisionale in gruppo e l'analisi critica del documentario quale fonte di conoscenza del passato. I materiali sono stati sviluppati in modo da poter essere adattati in maniera flessibile al livello e alle esigenze di uno specifico gruppo di studenti.
