Chronicles of Terror
Chronicles of Terror. Warsaw 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee
The book contains accounts given by residents of Warsaw and its environs – the victims of Nazi terror. These depositions describe crimes committed by the Germans throughout the Second World War, among others during the liquidation of the Ghetto and the Warsaw Uprising. The volume was published on the occasion of the 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. In consequence, much of it is devoted to the wartime destruction of Warsaw’s historical monuments, museums, libraries and archives – described in vivid detail in the depositions of Stanisław Lorentz, Jan Zachwatowicz and Adam Lewak.
