Zygmunt Uziębło - Instytut Pileckiego
Zygmunt Uziębło was commemorated on 4 June 2020 in Sterdyń.
He lived in the village of Stary Ratyniec in the commune of Sterdyń. During the German occupation, he helped the Jews that were hiding in the nearby forests. For this reason, he was arrested during the pacification of the area surrounding the estate in Paulinów. On 24 February 1943, the village was surrounded by a ten-kilometer cordon of German soldiers and policemen. Zygmunt was taken along with several other Polish men to the distillery on the Paulinów farm.
