Opening of a multimedia exhibition SHARDS OF UNJUDGED CRIMES – Ukrainian eyewitness testimonies of Russian crimes – the Pilecki Institute - Instytut Pileckiego

The Pilecki Institute has the pleasure to extend an invitation to a multimedia exhibition “SHARDS OF UNJUDGED CRIMES. Ukrainian eyewitness testimonies of Russian crimes”, which can be viewed at the exhibition space of the University of Warsaw Library. The exhibition runs to 31 May 2023.

Poland is a global leader in gathering testimonies pertaining to Russia’s crimes in Ukraine. The accounts of those who experienced Russian bestiality are being collected by the Lemkin Center, which was established by the Pilecki Institute in the first days of the war. The Institute does not simply archive these testimonies. In keeping with our goals, they become an active voice of Ukraine and the world, demanding accountability and putting a stop to the crimes perpetrated by Russian troops. The work of the Lemkin Center, carried out with great commitment by our both Polish and Ukrainian employees and volunteers, is being watched by the entire world.

Journalists accompany those who are collecting testimonies, as the Lemkin Center facilitates the contact between two great forces: the victims and the media, whose mission is to publicize the most important events and problems. The Pilecki Institute acquaints the public with the gathered accounts and films during international debates, conferences and meetings. We also translate them into the language of art, staging theatrical performances and exhibitions.

The exhibition offers a glimpse into an extensive archive of records of the present war.

“SHARDS OF UNJUDGED CRIMES – Ukrainian eyewitness testimonies of Russian crimes”

Exhibition space of the University of Warsaw Library at Dobra Street 56/66.

Come learn the realities of the war – please remember that the voice of the witnesses will never be silenced only if we release them into public sphere of the media. The exhibition has already been displayed in Berlin, where it met with unequivocal and unanimous support of the German media.

The exhibition will be available in Warsaw until 31 May 2023.
