A historian at the Institute of History (Faculty of the Humanities) of the University of Silesia in Katowice, he is Deputy Director of the Silesian Library for the Institute of Regional Research. The author of, among others, Górny Śląsk podczas II wojny światowej (Wyd. UŚ, 2006); Polacy w Wehrmachcie (WL, 2010); Polacy w armii kajzera (WL, 2014); Powstania śląskie 1919–1920–1921 (WL 2019); Historia Górnego Śląska (ed. 2011); and Historia Polski 1914–1989 (PWN, 2010).
