Im Rahmenprogramm des Internationalen Karlpreises zu Aachen findet ein Vortrag mit anschließender Diskussion mit besonderen Gästen aus Polen: Prof. Marek Kornat und Eryk Habowski aus dem Pilecki-Institut in Warszawa, statt.

Rafał Lemkin – jeden z najwybitniejszych prawników w dziejach, Polak żydowskiego pochodzenia, autor koncepcji i pojęcia ludobójstwa.
Jego prace były jednym z punktów zwrotnych w filozofii prawa, zmieniły już na zawsze sposób postrzegania praw człowieka – stanowiąc jednoznaczne potępienie prześladowań za przynależność do określonego narodu, wyznawaną religię czy kolor skóry. Podobnie jak Jan Karski, Witold Pilecki czy Szmul Zygielbojm podjął się misji alarmowania świata o zagładzie milionów – apelowania do sumienia świata w sprawie tragedii, która za sprawą totalitaryzmu niemieckiego i sowieckiego dotknęła na okupowanych ziemiach polskich tak wiele istnień.
