The Future of Central and East European Studies in the Light of Russia’s War of Aggression Against Ukraine | Conference
We are pleased to invite you to register for an international conference, whose aim will be to review the current state of affairs in the field of research on Central and Eastern Europe and on Russia, following the latter's armed aggression against Ukraine
With Russia’s war against Ukraine going into its third year and given its increasingly belligerent stance towards neighboring states in this region, it is absolutely crucial for us to take stock of the situation and suggest new paths for analyzing the history, present and future of Central and East Europe as a politically sovereign region and as a free subject of scientific research. It is our hope that this conference will stimulate cooperation among researchers, academics and policy-makers not only within the region, but among democratic nations worldwide who stand in support of Ukraine.
The Pilecki Institute in Warsaw in partnership with the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, the Institute of Political Studies and the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University, the Centre for East European Studies at Warsaw University, the Center for Historical Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Lithuanian History are pleased to be organizing this important conference.
