Małgorzata Dajnowicz - Instytut Pileckiego

Małgorzata Dajnowicz – Professor Titular of Humanities (2019). Employed at the Department of History at the University of Białystok, where she heads the Department of Cultural History and the Women’s History Laboratory, as well as at the Center for Totalitarian Studies at the Pilecki Institute in Warsaw. President and founder of the Institute of Women’s Studies. She is the author of several academic monographs and more than 160 articles in national and international publications. Her research interests include the history of
the 19th and 20th centuries, women’s history, the history of elites with special emphasis on the elites of National Democracy, regional history. She has been awarded many academic scholarships, including from the Foundation for Polish Science (twice) and the Lanckoroński
Foundation. She has repeatedly made use of academic grants, including from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Science Centre, and the National Centre for Culture. She has held academic internships and lectures in many foreign centers (in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Norway, Canada). In 2018–2023, Podlasie Provincial Conservator of Monuments. Member of the Commission for the Evaluation of Science for the 2023–2027 term. Awarded the Silver Cross of Merit (2011), Meritorious for Polish Culture (2018), Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture (2023).
