The participants visited the House Under the Crazy Star, where Antonina and Jan Żabiński risked their own lives providing shelter and aid to Jews during the Second World War.
A special guest – Teresa Żabińska-Zawadzki, Antonina and Jan's daughter –talked about the period of the occupation. In the place where she was born, she also talked about the extraordinary actions of her parents.
The event ended with a historical game devoted to the wartime history of Poland. Joined by a group of reenactors in uniforms, we talked about the outbreak of the war, the Siege of Warsaw, the German occupation in the capital, the fate of Jews during the war, and the destruction of the city during the Warsaw Uprising. In this way, we shared our knowledge about the Second World War in Poland with our foreign guests.
